First, I had a plan to go to Turkey. So, I try to email many LC in Turkey to ask about projects that they provide to interns. I sent it many times and there was no replied, even after wait for many days. As time goes by, I got some information from many EP returnee that there were some rules in Turkey related to religion, which is inconvenient me and makes me canceled to go to Turkey. My VP OGX offers me to go to Russia, I think why not? Because Russia will be in winter on January, and they have a different culture, different people, language, etc that it will be interesting to be there. Thus, I started to contact the AIESEC member of Russia. Yes, I connected with manager of Expansion AIESEC Russia. She replied my email actively, answer my entire questions and explain the project clearly.
After I had been interviewed by her, everything just goes with the flow. While waiting, I propose some fund proposal to some banks, government companies, university, and faculty. Yeah, they help me by giving mount of money. Beside that, when people around that I want to go to Russia, they said about some stereotypes about Russia, such as very cold and hot which is causes of dying people. It’s very dangerous country, there we can be kidnapped by the mafia, and also about people without any smile in their face. See? What kind a country is that?, it makes me afraid and curious in the same time. But I just decided to go.
About 6 months before I go for exchange, I spend lot of time in front of my computer. To connected with people in Russia , prepare all the internship material, and prepare the proposal for my internship subject in my faculty.
The day was coming, January 16th 2011. I flight to .. (to be continued )
