sweet n bitter of transit(s)ing in some countries (AIESEC story #3)

The day was coming, January 16th 2011. I flight to Kuala Lumpur from Surabaya at 6 a.m. , and I arrived there save. But then, I got a problem with my next flight. I can’t continue it because I have no visa for transiting in Korea. What? Okay, then I know that my choice was wrong. This flight company do not give me ‘full service’ as another flight company, they just ‘connected flight’ from one country to another. Another learning for me, to be aware of choosing the flight company. There was the time when I felt so terrible, I tried to do all the ways, but I felt that jus few people can understand us in English, we don’t know where to go, no battery for laptop and we can’t find any plug, yeah, totally stuck.

The next day in Kuala lumpur, we went to Korean embassy to ask some information about it and they said we do not have to have a visa just for transiting. Really? Yes. And we went back to the airport with our big luggage, and they finally want to help us if we re-pack our luggage become a hand carriage. Well, okay, we’ll do it. Then we’ll go to korea in the 3rd day, finally. One night in Korea, and we fly to Khabarovsk. When I arrived there, I was in very terrible condition because of previous days accident. But then, AIESEC member of LC Khabarovsk welcome me so well, I felt so surprise with that. And I felt comfort when I had some rest in my host family.

Yap, this is my first time to stay so far away from my parents and will find many different things around me. I felt so interesting of everything. The weather was so cold, about -20 and more. But I like it very much, so many snow around me  . there, I lived in a host family who are very nice to me. They trust me by gave me the key of the house. So I can go back home if I finish from my activities earlier than them. They taught me how to be a brave girl, say what I need to say in the right time. We always have a discussion time on supper. By the way, if we have breakfast, lunch and dinner, then in Russia has breakfast, dinner, and supper . Yap, we discuss, share, and tell many things in mix languages (Russian and English). It makes me eager to learn Russian language, by listen, remember, and practice. Well, they really show me many part of Khabarovsk, by going to some museums, bought me music and ski dance ticket concert, went to Dacca (summer house), made a Blini (Russian pancake), and nany village museum. That was my lovely host family.

My project was DT , named “Youth Perspective” and CEED in Expansion LC Khabarovsk. In my second day, I visited .. (to be continued)
